Route around the Marjal Pego-Oliva Nature Park

The Marjal de Pego-Oliva Nature Park invites you to discover these incredible wetlands through the Salinar Route. On 21st December, 20th January, 24th February and 18th March, there will be guided tours given by the Park’s team of environmental education officers.

This activity is free and aimed at small groups on a first come first served basis for registration. The route lasts approximately 2 hours, with a medium to low level of difficulty, and takes in emblematic places such as the source of the River Salinar.

In the area surrounding the River, you can see a wide variety of semi-aquatic plant species and animals, although one of the major attractions of this itinerary is undoubtedly the chance it gives you to take in the crystal clear waters of this fantastic river.
As you get further through the tour, you will discover a great many points where underground water bubbles up to the surface, known as ullals. And if you stop to take in the views, you’ll get the chance to admire the Sierra de Segaria mountains, easily recognised for their resemblance to a human face, and the Nature Park of El Montgó, two of the natural wonders of this area.
Then, at the point where the Salinar flows into the River Bullent, you’ll find an area known as Blau del Calapatar, where you can take your time to watch the River Bullent.
And there’s even more since, on the way back, you’ll make your way through Muntanyeta Verda, a stunning natural beauty spot.
To sign up for this activity, call the Marjal de Pego-Oliva Nature Park: 96 640 02 51 / 679 19 52 27
